New Art for Change prints in honor of Indigenous Peoples' Day

October 11, 2021

In honor of Indigenous Peoples' Day, I'm writing with an update on our ongoing Art for Change project, a series of postcards and art prints whose proceeds we are donating each quarter to organizations run by or in support of BIPOC, LGBTQ+ and women small business owners.

We have four new designs launching today, available as prints or postcards!

Here are the organizations your purchase of Art for Change prints are benefiting:

Q4 2020: we donated $750 to Buy From a Black Woman, an organization founded in 2016 by Nikki Porcher to empower, inspire and educate Black women business owners through scholarships, grants and events.

Q1 2021: we donated $500 to Black Girl Ventures which was founded in 2016 by serial entrepreneur and computer scientist Shelly Bell. BGV provides Black/Brown woman-identifying founders with access to key entrepreneurial tools that helps foster community building and financial growth.

Q2 2021: we donated $500 to Engaging Collections, a "residency and online journal at the intersections of art + equity with libraries, archives, and special collections which facilitates artists through funding, resources, and advocacy in the making of public artworks" which "address underrepresented histories, non-dominant narratives, and community-based legacies."

Q3 2021: we donated $900 to Crafting the Future, an organization founded by artists and students at Penland School of Craft to "address the glaring lack of racial and ethnic diversity in the fields of art and craft." They are connecting BIPOC artists with opportunities that will help them thrive.

Q4 2021: TBA - if you have ideas for organizations we should partner with please email me at rachel@heartellpress.com, I'd love to hear from you.

Thank you for supporting Art for Change!
