Daily Inspiration for The Mother Figure Card Writing Challenge

Athena Harden May 05, 2024

Brunch and flowers have their place in the calendar but I hope this will inspire you to slip a little extra love and recognition into the mailboxes of your mothering friends and family this week.

Here are a few prompts to explore. I hope they spark some inspiration for you.

Day 1 - Cherish the Mother Figures:

Today, take a moment to honor the special individuals who have played a maternal role in your life. Whether it's your own mom, an aunt, dad, sister, neighbor, friend's mom, mother-in-law, stepmom, librarian, boss, or someone else who's been there for you, show your appreciation with a heartfelt card.

Day 2 - Embrace Your Maternal Role:

Who are you a mother figure to?  Whether it's a niece, neighbor, or friend's child, extend your caring nature to those who could use a little mothering this week.

Day 3 - Gift of Knowledge:

Share something meaningful with your mother figure—a cherished recipe, a favorite plant or flower, or a piece of wisdom you've gained along your path.

Day 4 - Poetic Expressions:

Let words flow freely as you compose a poem for your mother figure. Whether it's a favorite verse or your own creation, let poetry convey your appreciation.

Day 5 - Mystery and Joy:

Spread a little mystery and delight with an unsigned letter. Share a small token of joy or words of encouragement, leaving the recipient curious and smiling.

Day 6 - Shared Laughter:

Recall a joy-filled memory that brings laughter whenever you reminisce. Capture the moment in a card and share the joy with your mother figure.

Day 7 - Lessons from the Heart:

Reflect on the invaluable lessons imparted by your mother figure. How have these teachings shaped your personal growth and journey?

Bonus Prompt - Spreading Kindness:

Prepare a card for a random mom you encounter on Mother's Day. Whether it's at the grocery store, in your neighborhood, or elsewhere, offer a simple message of kindness to brighten someone's day.
